IMPORTANT

Getting sized or fitted is finding out what bra size you should be wearing for e.g. 36C or 34D. Nina Elle Undergarments feel that the most important way of assessing your bra size is to try on different styles and to use the bras fitting guide to determine what size bras you should be wearing. Finding out your bra size and understanding it as your body changes has been a bit of a mythical subject. There are so many ideas that are incorrect.

As your band size changes your cup size will most likely do the same. This is why it is necessary to check you are wearing the right bra regularly. We think that measurement is the best starting point. It is a little complicated but it is worth going through the process as a right fitting bra can change the way you feel about yourself. Please note that this is only a guide as bras come in many shapes and styles.

·         Band size measurement is the ribcage measurement and not the size of the cup - it is always referred to in numbers e.g., 32, 34 or 36 etc

·         Place a tape measure around your body just under your bust. Ensure the tape is level front & back - use a mirror. Ensure the tape is firmly around your body - remember that a bra will stretch when worn.

·         Use the table below to calculate what back size you are for example – under band measurement on the tape measure is 32" = bra band size 36 - if you fall in between inch sizing always go up.

·          Place a tape measure around your breast. Ensure the tape is level front & back - use a mirror if needed. Don’t let the tape fall at the back. This time don’t pull the tape too tightly. The tape should just sit around the body and breasts gently.

·          The cup size is determined by subtracting the band measurement from the bust measurement. The cup size is the difference converted into a letter using the following table:

DIFFERENCE
CUP SIZE
1/2 " to 1"
AA cup
1" to 1 1/2 "
A cup
1 1/2 " to 2 1/2 "
B cup
2 1/2 " to 3 1/2 "
C cup
3 1/2 " to 4"
D cup
4" to 5"
DD/E cup
5" to 6"
DDD/F cup
6" to 7"
G cup
7" to 8"
H cup
8" to 9"
I cup
9" to 10"
J cup

Tip: If your new band size has changed your cup size will most certainly have - if you have gone down 2 band sizes you will go up two cup sizes e.g. if you were previously 38B and you are now wearing 34 your cup size will now be D cup.
